This itinerary also offers the option to trek up to the Base camp area of Everest providing a taste of the Khumbu that is second to none and offering an daring challenge to the ambitious trekkers on his or her’s first Himalayan trip. This great itinerary begins with a trek from the airstrip at Lukla to Namche Bazaar and onwards to the holy lakes at Gokyo prior to crossing the challenging and spectacular Cho La entering the main Khumbu Valley which is the nearest point the base camp for the south side of Everest. The return journey to the Khumbu capital of Namche Bazaar is on the main Everest Trail, leading through many small Sherpa villages and providing opportunity to visit the famous monasteries at Pangboche and Thyangboche. Highlights of this exceptional trek are the accessible summits of Gokyo Ri and Kala Patar, each providing magnificent views of the Southwest Face of Everest. We also take the opportunity to visit Everest Base camp for a closer look at the spectacular “Khumbu Icefall” The climbing route to the South Col is the route taken on the very first ascent.

Day 04: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4200 m.)
Day 05: Trek from Dole to Machchhermo (4470 m.)
Day 06: Trek from Machchhermo to Gokyo (4790 m.)
Day 07: Excursion at Gokyo Ri (5357 m.) trek to Thagnag Kharka (5025 m.)
Day 08: Cross Cho-La pass (5330 m.) descend to Dzongla (4830 m.)
Day 09: Trek from Dzongla to Lobuche (4930 m.)
Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5140 m.)
Day 11: Excursion at Kalapatthar (5545 m.) return to Gorak Shep
Day 12: Trek from Gorak Shep to Dingboche (4343 m.)
Day 13: Trek from Dingboche to Tyengboche (3867 m.)
Day 14: Trek from Tyengboche to Namche Bazaar (3446 m.)
Day 15: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding (2652 m.)

Day 17: Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu and leisure day
