Round Annapurna Trek

One of the best and rewarding treks in the world, Round Annapurna Trek offers captivating Himalayan mountain scenery, flora and fauna and the variety of ethnic Nepalese cultures and traditions.
The trek begins in the lowland paddy fields and slowly gains altitude  while passing through oak and pine forests and eventually emerging into high desert land at Manang (3597 m.). One has to cross the highest mountain pass at the altitude of 5,416 m, while approaching to the Thorung La . Close up views of the Annapurna  Himalayan range (40 miles between the two river valleys exist at twelve 7000 m peaks and many more above the 6000m peaks can be  witnessed all along the way.
Beyond   Thorong-La Pass   descending trail takes us to Muktinath, the important holy shrine for both Hindu and Buddhists. This part of the area is also interesting. Close to Muktinath temple, one can view eternal burning flame over the undergrounded water spring.
Varied ecosystems, diverse ethnic  cultures and an ever-changing landscape - lush, green paddy fields and oak forests, arid deserts and the world's  deepest river gorge make this trek one of the most popular in the world.
One can see full blooming of red rhododendron forests in March to April. The landscape along the trekking route is amazing.
