The trek starts from less than 800 meters altitude and ultimately reaches at the altitude of over 4000 m which is the highest point of the trek. At the beginning of the trek one passes through terraced farms, rhododendron and oak forests, cascades with a great view of mountain scenery. The trail to Annapurna base camp follows the Modi River and keeps continuing until you reach the large rock overhanging, known as Hinku Cave.
